Seeking lost recordings...

Hi, I am seeking original recordings by local San Antonio artists such as Thirteen, The Maplehelm, Evergreen, Cordial, The Sons of Hercules, El Santo, Lung Overcoat, Crevice, Boxcar Satan of course, and anything else interesting, though music local to San Antonio only please. 7" vinyl, 33 1/3 vinyl, compact discs, preferred. Anything from Compulsive Records and Uncle Buzz would be great too.

Have we met AP?
1033? vortex? taco land?
I have some of that stuff and can burn for you tho I don't know where you can get originals of most.
All the boxcar early singles and b-sides, odds/ends, multiple lineups, extras, etc will be on a forthcoming disc called "Secret Rarities" maybe next year?

We have met, though only in passing, and never introduced anyway. Twin Sisters and Whole Foods, perhaps Taco Land. I caught a few early Boxcar Satan shows at Taco Land and I do remember seeing you guys with Blind Willie's Johnson, and at least one other time (though I'm not sure who else was on the bill), though this was like from 1993-1995. I may have caught one other show in that time period, though I'm not sure.
Wow, I didn't expect a response from a member of Boxcar Satan. How incredibly kind of you. Since I posted this topic, I have surprisingly been able to find a lot of what I'm looking for online. GEMM, Amazon, and Ebay, though the last two for digital stuff only thus far, and GEMM for vinyl as well as digital. I didn't think of looking online until I realized I found Chrome Molly's "Angst" on GEMM. Then I just used the GEMM website's browser to find San Antonio bands GEMM might have in its database. I've been relatively lucky, all originals so far, though it's hit or miss as to what I will find.
The rarities collection sounds like a great idea! I really look forward to it! Will there be anymore collaborations with other bands or musicians coming up? I love the Reverand Vince Anderson Texas Barroom Revival! I can't believe how you guys keep getting more and more incredible, and more complex, as you continue to make music. I don't know why I'm surprised, though it take a lot to get through a Boxcar Satan album, if anything because you guys ability to challenge the listener, your fans, with some really amazing musicianship, and really genius lyrics. I hope that dosen't sound trite or cliche, Boxcar Satan are a big bite, a real challenge for any music fan. I think, in my opinion. Anyway...
Thank you again for your incredibly generous offer! I'm sorry it took me so long to post a reply though I was unable to log on to the Boxcar Satan Forums for a while for some reason. Good luck on your latest tour, and hopefully I'll be able to catch a show with y'all soon!

If you can make it there's an early show Sun Nov. 16 (at Rock Bottom - Suzy Bravo at 8:30, Ghostwriter at 9:30, and BS at 10:30).
BTW better not eat at Twin Sisters... those hippies piss in the food there!

- i just stumbled across this old request you made, don't know what luck you've had in the interim or if you're still looking, but i can help you with a few of those and maybe a couple other items of interest. don't know if we've met, my name is aaron - i was in el santo, did a quick year on bass riding the boxcar during 94, worked at hogwild for 6 years, ran a little vinyl label called sleepking and generally threw my weight around musically to the best of my ability in 90's san antonio. thanks to several of those worthy endeavors i am in the position to offer you a number of vintage san antonio rock'n'roll artifacts - primarily the 1st el santo 4 song 7", the first boxcar satan 7" on my label (see avatar pic), boxcar/chapstik split 7", cordial sleepking 7", dropouts sleepking 7", big drag sleepking 7" and possibly a few other physcial goodies as well a plethora of mp3's that may be of interest. get in touch with me via the email i have registered here to make further inquiries, if you are still interested.
best regards,
boxcarschooldropout
